MICROSOFT 'EMPOWERING'

The Empowering campaign was our way of showing the Microsoft mission statement in action, highlighting stories of unique people who use technology to accomplish amazing things.  Over the course of 3 years, I led research and development efforts to discover the stories that made up the campaign, acted as liaison between the brand and these technological innovators, and wrote/designed the pitch decks to sell their stories to Microsoft.  Once these subjects were greenlit, I worked with our Creative Directors to develop the campaign, directing storyboard artists, providing on-set script re-writes, and working with a team of editors to deliver national broadcast spots and digital content.

MICROSOFT 'INNOVATION'

Microsoft wanted to establish itself as a leader in futuristic technologies such as artificial intelligence, but was faced with a dilemma — how does a brand humanize tech that most people don’t understand and don’t trust? We leveraged the exceptional talents of Microsoft’s spokesman, Common, to lead a new campaign focusing on the next generation of innovators. As Associate Creative Director, I vetted each innovators’ story, helped shape the tone of our pitch material, interview questions, and broadcast scripts, and shepherded the project through production and post-production.

MICROSOFT CLOUD

Cloud computing is one of the most transformative technologies of our age, but the problem with promoting it is that the space is almost too vast. We helped Microsoft Cloud find its voice by focusing on the micro rather than the macro, and celebrated the people using the technology to work in new and innovative ways. I collaborated with Microsoft’s product managers to identify appropriate story subjects, then led our storyboard artists and copywriters in the effort to capture these inspiring stories for broadcast and digital media. The hard work paid off — in 2017, we won a silver Effie Business-to-Business Campaign award.

MICROSOFT HARDWARE

The hardware team at Microsoft loves to push the boundaries of computing form factors - from first-generation augmented reality headsets to desktop computers that transform into drafting tables. That means we always face a new challenge when it comes time to produce product reveal videos — whether they be for live events, broadcast spots, or online. These are some of my favorite challenges —from working with our Creative Directors to help figure out how to film holograms, to advising composers and music producers to produce ear worm covers of classic songs, I’ve led the charge to help solve every new problem they throw at us.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS

In the wake of the Roger Sterling scandal, the Clippers needed to take back control of their public image. We created a video to play on the Jumbotron at the Staples Center, and on national TV during the opening games of the 2014 season. It was a message, distilled into an attitude, and it helped the team start the year on their own terms.  I scoured archival game footage, promotional videos, and prior advertising work to uncover the most engaging moments so our editor could capture the heart of this message.

ABSOLUT ELYX

Having lost market dominance to the rise of premium vodkas, Absolut released a new vodka they refer to as 'liquid silk'. To encourage people to 'raise a glass,' this campaign celebrated the moments that are worth toasting to.  I worked with the Creative Director to develop the list of moments that made up our broadcast and social work.
